Portfolio: • Dallas / Fort Worth International Airport to MicroStation XM (V8) (DFW): I managed and upgraded DFW to MicroStaitonTM from MicroStationTM J (V7). I also implemented United States National CAD Standard®. This was done to get the North East Prelimiary Taxiway Design underway. • Bentley Inc: In 2007 I consulted with Bentley on streamlining an upgrade from MicroStationTM J to MicroStationTM V8 XM for a CSC client that Bentley was upgrading. • Dallas / Fort Worth International Airport: (DFW) I managed the CADD production on the Skylink Design program "The World's Largest Airport People Mover Project." I updated their CADD standards and customized the existing Workspace to work with the Skylink project to keep production at a maximum with an easy work flow. I rewrote site, project, and user configuration files along with custom menus, pen table, and plot drivers to all work together to make it easy and simple for the architects, engineers, and CADD designers. I also provided support to DFW on implementing Bentley ProjectWise. The Skylink project had over 130 separate construction packages, which required approximately 8,500 sheets to be produced. The majority were prepared during a 12-month period. • Freese and Nichols Inc: (FNI) I implemented a MicroStationTM Workspace at FNI in 2003 to support their CADD standards and their client standards. I wrote a new FNI Workspace for MicroStationTM V8 in 2005. Then I updated the Workspace to the latest version of MicroStationTM V8 XM. • Lockheed Martin: In 2006-2007 I upgraded Lockheed Martin of Fort Worth, TX from MicroStationTM J to MicroStationTM V8 XM. I assisted in implementing Bentley ProjectWise, Bentley Architecture, and Bentley Facilities. Comment from Steve Rohlfing at Lockheed Martin: "Mr. Thompson was quicker than most to grasp our unique work environment and how it would affect our new software implementation. His knowledge of the software and system is considered 'expert'." I assisted in Bentley MicroStation V8 XM Administration Training as well as Bentley MicroStation V8 XM User Training for Lockheed Martin - November, 2006. • MicroStationTM Interest of North Texas: (MINT) Mint is one of the oldest users group dedicated to MicroStationTM and other Bentley related products. MINT was founded in 1990 and serves the North Central Texas area. I have been an active member of MINT since 2002, and I served as president for two terms. The purpose of the group is to provide news, continuing education, and networking opportunities, as well as a forum for exchanging useful information to our members. MINT hosted the very first Bentley Forum in Dallas, Texas in 1995. • URS Inc: I implemented a DFW MicroStationTM J Workspace for the Skylink project at URS Inc. in Melbourne, Australia in 2000. |
